Q: What is the difference between Ride-On Tyre Protection System Tyre
Sealant and other products, sold in aerosol cans?
A: Aerosol inflators are designed to provide only a temporary repair of flat
tyres. The driver should immediately take the car to the nearest gas station for
a permanent repair. Please warn the service technician that an aerosol
flat-fixer has been used .
Many of these aerosol sealants contain propellants that are usually
highly flammable. A spark could ignite the flammable gas in the tyre, setting
off an explosion, and cause a serious injury.
The labels on aerosol flat-fixers, like those on any aerosol, warn against
storing the cans in temperatures over 120ºF (49ºC), a temperature that can
easily be reached on any summer day in an enclosed area of a car. Other aerosols
contain ozone depleting compounds and carcinogens. Repair shops complain that
aerosol flat-fixers coat the inside of a tyre with a gummy residue that is hard
to scrape off.
In many cases, permanent patches won't stick to the tyre after an aerosol
flat-fixer has been used for temporary repairs, so the tyre must be replaced.
Ride-On (TPS) tyre sealant provides you with full time preventative protection
against flat tyres. You won't have to waste time fumbling with nozzles and
directions during a rainstorm, on the side of a dangerous highway, or at night
in a bad neighborhood.
You also will not have to worry about future delays, down time and a trip to the
repair shop. Ride-On (TPS) also extends tyre life, eliminates porosity leaks and
helps tyres remain properly inflated.
Q: How come other sealant manufacturers require you to install 2 to 3
times as much sealant as with Ride-On?
A: Years of research and field testing of the Ride-On (TPS) has led to
development of the most advanced tyre sealant on the market. When
properly installed, Ride-On (TPS) will not affect the tyre balance, even in high
speed passenger vehicle applications.
Other sealant manufacturers prescribe arbitrary installation amounts of their
sealants, and claim that it will work well with any wheel/rim size. According to
their instructions, the same amount of sealant would be installed in a
P185/60R15 tyre as in a P325/50R15 tyre. With the Ride-On (TPS) , 2 times as
much sealant would be prescribed for the P325/50R15 tyre as in the P185/60R15.
This scientific approach of installing the correct amount of sealant to coat the
entyre inner tread area of the tyre will ensure proper protection of the tyres
and eliminate potential balancing problems. If enough sealant is not installed,
NO tyre sealant can perform as designed, and the tyre will experience out of
balance problems. If too much sealant is installed, the tyre will also have
balance problems.
Therefore, it is critical that the correct amount of Ride-On (TPS) be installed
for your tyre size. A vehicle properly equipped with Ride-On (TPS) will benefit
from better handling, better fuel economy, longer lasting tyres, and most
importantly, a safer ride.
